I`ve been running since the age of 5 and come from a track/road background.

I used to run 800, 1500 and 3000m at school provincial level and started multisport in 1993 where I made the provincial team on my first try. 1999 I raced junior elite and represented SA at world championship and  placed 23. 2000 I won SA Duathlon champs age group 20-25 and placed 11 at World champs after which I raced Elite again for a few years and placed top 3 on numerous occasions.

Later I started participating in triathlon and moved to Ironman distance 2005 where I placed 3rd in age group 25-29 at Ironman South Africa in a time of 10:12. 2008 I went sub 10 hours in Ironman South Africa and 2009 I ran my PB for a marathon at Knysna Marathon (the hardest marathon in SA) 2:41 and placed 6th.

When it comes to Ultra marathons I seem to have a tendency to try hard races as my father ran 17 Comrades and 18 Two Oceans marathons, so 2009 and 2010 I ran 2 consecutive silver medals in the Two Oceans marathon and the biggest claim to fame so far is when me and my best friend won AfricanX, a 3 day trail race over a distance of approx 90km, on our 3rd try.

PB times:

21.1km – 70 minutes

10km – 31:45

I`m known as one of South Africa’s fastest multisport athletes, when it comes to the running discipline, and a top trail runner that always poses a threat when I’m on the starting line.. I consistently place top 10 in all the Marathon I run in WP.

I currently work for ASICS as technical manager, so footwear knowledge is my passion, but I studied as a medical technologist and specialized  in clinical technology.

So now let’s give you some tips on how to become a more economical/faster runner and help you find the newest and updated gear out there.
